Well, I got into NYU last week, but I got into the GSP program. I was disappointed at first, but then I remembered it's NYU. With my stats, I was lucky to even get into GSP..
But, anyway. I also applied to Eugene Lang/Parsons (New School), Vassar, Bard, & Sarah Lawrence. Already got into Rutgers and Suny Purchase.
I really want to live in the city, so it's pretty much between Eugene Lang and NYU. (I'm pretty sure I'll be accepted into Lang.) Is NYU really worth the extra ten thousand dollars per year? Does anyone know someone at Eugene Lang who really likes it there? Or should I just go for NYU?
Any words would be greatly appreciated.

it's worth it in the sense that it will probably be an asset to you in the future (finding jobs) to have gone to a school with a much better academic reputation. also, nyu attracts students who are more academic than new school does and will probably have more interesting classes (after all the majority of what makes a class interesting is whether the students care, not how good the professor is). it's up to you though, money is a big deciding factor in choosing a college.

If you want to live somewhere other than NYC one day, I would say it would be better to go to NYU. I don't think that Eugene Lang is that well-known outside of the region; I live in the south and I've never heard of it, and I'd like to think that I've heard of most good schools.

If possible, I would encourage you to visit the two schools (fortunate because they're both in the city) to help you make your decision. I know this advice seems obvious, but it is crucial since you are undecided.

yeah, i know that once i get out of school (with a BA and MA hopefully) the whole nyu thing will definitely help on my resume. it's just the cost.. but i did visit both and i really like them. i guess it's up to my parents to decide how much they love me in dollar signs
