I need some help to figure out my "matches", "reaches" + "safeties" :)

I'm a Washington resident, sophomore at a WA community college.

My cumulative GPA right now is a 3.51 and I'm a member of Phi Theta Kappa.

I'd apply for Fall quarter 2012/Fall semester 2012.

What would be my chances for

Cornell University

New York University

University of Washington - Seattle

Tulane University

University of Minnesota - Twin Cities

University of Iowa

Iowa State University

University of Tennessee

Colorado State University

I don't think my GPA will go up by much until the end of Fall quarter and I'm pretty sure that my chances to get into both Cornell and NYU are pretty slim but I'm still curious. (:

I guess one of my "safeties" could be Colorado State University?

Thanks guys!

Does UW have a guaranteed admission agreement with your CC? Can you afford all those OOS schools (including Col St)?

Not that I’m aware of.

They have to accept 30% of transfers from WA CC’s though and they prefer applicants who have completed their Associate degree.

Yes, I could afford all those OOS schools b/c of PTK scholarships, however, Colordo State is more affordable than the rest - other than UW - b/c it would cost about $31.000/year.

You really think PTK will pay $55K/yr at NYU for you? What share can you pay?

No, I did not say that.

I could afford Cornell and NYU because I did do Running Start in my senior year and b/c I received a scholarship for my 2nd year at my CC that pays for pretty much everything except parking.

I can afford NYU and Cornell b/c I saved a lot in my first two years and I have also made a lot of money through working full-time.

Those two are good schools so I’d be willing to pay that much - but only if I would even get accepted.

Right now my overall favorite school is the University of Washington. I am sorry if that was unclear.

The PTK scholarships vary for each school listed.

I would get $6000/year for CSU. NYU doesn’t say how much but I think it’ll be $1000/year and I might be getting Financial Aid from them but I’ll never know how much until I get accepted and receive their Financial Aid packet.
