I need some serious help. ACT

Okay, so here is the thing.
I took the ACT yesterday (June 8th) and I messed up science and reading.
This is my gap year and I want things to go perfectly. I plan to take it again in September but I won't be able to apply early or be at a comfortable position concerned to my application

Don’t worry. Retake it. I took it today and struggled immensely, and I did pretty well the first time I took it. I don’t know anybody who didn’t struggle with it, it was much harder than my last one. Let’s just cross our fingers for a good curve.

Yeah that’s all we can hope for. But, I am really scared. It’s hard taking a gap year

Life tip: If you think it’s hard to take a gap year then you shouldn’t have taken a gap year.

Don’t expect people to empathize with you on CC

My advice is too study your butt off for the September date while hoping the curve is amazing on the one you just took. The general consensus is that the test was harder than usual (I partially agree with that) but that does not guarantee that the curve accounts for that.
Did you take the act or sat prior to taking your gap year? If so, what was your score?
Also, most early application deadlines are at the beginning of November and you should get your September act scores in October, which means you should still be able to apply early!

I took the SAT thrice and got a super of around 1710. And I’m taking a gap year coz I got rejected from all schools tat I applied to. Anyway, the thing is , how should I improve my application beyond my test scores. What can I do to be competitive enough? I was thinking to start on my apps right now

If you got rejected to all your schools then there was clearly some misinformation given to you. Did you not have a safety school? You should realistically have a couple… But onto your issue. During a gap year one of your best uses of your time is to improve your sat or act. Just because your scores have not been what you want yet does not mean you should give up on them! Keep studying!
But there are things you can do to slightly make up for poor scores. Since application time is already coming up, there is not a ton you can do. Have you been working (at a job relevant to your major would be best!)? Or an internship? Having you been taking classes at a local CC? If you have not been making the most of your gap year then you are going to run into some issues. But what you can do now is perfect your application. Your essays need to be amazing; read them out loud, have everyone you know proofread them and make sure that YOU are in them. Also, your entire application can be molded to show you in the best light, it is all marketing so take advantage of that.
Best of luck!

I have been volunteering at an NGO where I am teaching children. I am also learning programming languages myself currently. So, yeah. And yeah, I’ll be taking the act again. Just want some luck
