She doesnt have a SSN, meaning she can't create a PIN to electronically sign. I have a SSN from DACA (Differed action for childhood arrivals) and was able to create a temporary PIN to sign with.

I need the FAFSA SAR before the 7th, and the only way I can do that is if I submit it online, I've heard it takes about 3-5 days. If I mail it it will take about two weeks to get the SAR. She could only sign it by paper. If I complete the FAFSA online but don't submit her signature, will i still get the SAR? that's all I need (I need it for a scholarship I'm applying to and the deadline is the 7th). Or will they ask me for her signature before giving me the SAR?

I doubt any SAR that doesn’t result from both signatures having been submitted will be acceptable but contact the organization about that and what to do. In the meantime mail in your mom’s signature ASAP.

You will not get an EFC until a parent signs the FAFSA, unfortunately. It takes several weeks for a paper signature to process. Why not talk to the scholarship people and explain your situation? They may be understanding.

@Erin’s Dad I had to get many papers together. I even had to track down a teacher who lives in Germany for a recommendation form, I had to write 4 essays, and It took me a few days to get my mom’s tax info.

Luckily they gave me a SAR yesterday, although it’s not signed by my mom. Do you guys think the scholarship will accept it? The only financial info. on it is my mom’s 2013 income, which is below 15k. I forgot to add that I was given free lunch in school, and the rest would have been $0 so I didn’t feel that up.
Do you guys think that shows financial need? that’s what the scholarship is asking for but I don’t know if that info. is enough.
