Fafsa signatures page

I recently completed my fasfa and submitted it on Monday but now I have to wait until Sunday to mail my parents signature page, how long will it take for that to process? I cannot sign electronically because my parents don’t have a social security number, just an ITIN number. Did I do something wrong if I submitted my application already but am waiting for it to mail on Sunday? The reason I’m waiting until Sunday is because I can’t print it until Sunday.

No mail monday either. Are you mailing it to your school(s)? They will process it in the normal course of business. You might contact them and ask if you can fax a copy to them ‘just to get started.’

I finished my application on the 9th and I can’t mail it until Sunday. I tried seeing if I was able to fax the signature but it said no. And no I think I have to mail it to the address that they give me on the signature page, which I believe are the fafsa head quarters? So should I not mail on Sunday since Monday is a holiday…? What if I just do an overnight shipping?

@twoinanddone Also the fafsa deadline for my term isn’t until May 19 but I start classes this month on the 22nd, so I’m about 2 weeks. I just wanted fafsa before my classes started but I don’t think I’ll have enough time for my signature page to be processed at this rate

It does not make sense to spend the extra money for overnight mailing as it is not going to necessarily “speed up” the process. You can spend the ~6 for 2 day priority mail, where you will get a tracking number to see when it has been delivered.

Once you mail it to the processing center (you do not send it to the individual schools if you are a U.S. citizen/permanent resident). It will be processed and the information sent to your schools, you will receive an email stating that it is processed and how to download your SAR. Hold on to a signed copy of your signature page for your records along with a print out of the FAFSA that you submitted.

If it is for this term, make sure you are using the correct form (2017-18). You can mail it on Sunday, but make sure you put it in a mailbox that gets picked up on Sundays and Holidays.
