I love the midwest. I don't think I could live somewhere that has as many egos as the east coast seems to have.

I do plan on leaving the midwest at some point in my life, but I'm pretty sure that I'll always come back at some time, too.

I haven't thought of the school yet but i don't think i'll get the redneck connotation since i'm asian. lol

I'd switch with you.
northwest indiana is far worse.
I'm still near chicago, but not near enough to make it in often.

Vermont's kind of meh, but it's not "east coast" literally or figuratively.

hotpiece, i'm glad to see another person from cincy on here. What school do you go to btw? I go to Lakota West. And yeah, I feel that the whole city factor is a big difference, because I would probably go into city every weekend that I could, but nooooooooooooo... Cincinnati has to have a population of about 5 in the city during the weekend lol

I'm getting out of Illinois in 60 days!!!! I can't wait! Movin to Los Angeles to go to USC!!!

skidmore. i hope i like it...they gave me a hell of a lot of money and it's away from here...god, i hope i like it.

yeah, stay away from southern illinois... its the "eh" area.

the rest of us dont really consider them part of illinois....thats the south down there.

thats what i've heard tyler09

Sorry to rain on your parade, but Saratoga Springs is a dump :/

I'm counting the days until I'm out of the 'burbs of Chicago. There seems to be a lot of Naperville kids on this board. My family and I was going to buy a house in Naperville, but they tax you out of the bookoo, so we moved a couple blocks south to Plainfield. Not the most exciting place on earth.

I've lived in a couple different places so I'm going to go ahead and say that you all just want change, whether you are sick of your environment or simply sick of your parents. I used to live between Dayton and Cincy and then by Muncie, IN, and now by Orlando. When I was applying to schools I wanted to get out of state too, even though I did like the area I was living in (Disney anyone?)

At the same time, however, I wanted to move back up north. There are so many things I miss about Ohio, like the food (Skyline, Marion's, La Rosa's, Graeter's, etc.) and the people (way smarter than down here believe it or not). I hope I get to go to grad school up there (going to undergrad in FL).

I also read this study that says that where you imagine yourself to be happier isn't going to make you any more happy. Like, if you live in New York and you think moving to California will make you happier, it usually won't. I'm guessing this study only includes environmental factors, so if you are trying to get away from annoying or restrictive parents, then maybe a move would be good.

^^^ Winter Springs?

hotpiece: That's pretty cool that you went to Union and Ridge, cause that's where I also went. I actually live in the neighborhood right next to Ridge (down the big hill lol)

loslobos: Yeah, I know some people that live in the blue ash/Indian hills area (Mainly through JSA Conventions). It's about 15 min away or so.

erhswimming: You're right, I would probably miss the Skyline and the Greater's around here if/when I move away, but honestly at this point I would be willing to give that all up just to move to a bigger city. What can I say, I'm a city boy.
