I'm currently in my Junior year of high school (I'm hiding the name of the high school for privacy measures but it is considered one of the best schools academic wise in Massachusetts). I'm freaking out about getting into college. I currently have a gpa at around 2.7-2.8 which I know is very bad, but I'm taking two AP classes. I have also heard from my friends that our school is much harder work wise then many other schools so that will help me in the end, but I'm not sure how seriously to take that since it sounds pretty silly.

For after school activities I do both winter and spring track. I'm not really state level so I won't get recruited for my athletic skill but I was hoping that it would help me somehow. I also did a play but didn't have that big of a role, and I have eighty hours of community service, so I think that my after school activities are pretty varied.

I am not in many clubs. I attended a social justice club in my sophmore year but didn't stay in it for long. The only thing I really do in school is this program that has juniors mentoring the freshmen.

Next year I'm taking another two advanced classes, Bio and Gov. Both of which I'm actually very interested in. I'm not planning on going easy my senior year and I'm hoping that the colleges will realize this.

I have yet to take my SATs or SAT 2. My SAT date is May 1st and my average score from Kaplan always comes at around 2000 with math being my strongest and writing the weakest. I'm taking two SAT 2s in June, Bio and History. For MCAS I had received advanced in Math, english and physics so I'm eligible for payment help... I think since I read somewhere you need a 3.0 gpa for that.

Pretty much with all this info I was hoping you guys could tell me whether or screwed up my chances of ever having a normal life. I want to know if I'm just overreacting. Know this, I'm not aiming that high. I'm hoping for something like UMass Amherst or UMaine with Northeastern being my reach school. I appreaciate any help in advance and I apologize if this post was so long.
