I need your advice!

Hello, I am a international student who quite high school in junior years, to study GED. Now i was interested to enroll in UCLA university in the history program. But i was afraid that can i really attain this goal, one of the reason is the SAT exam and another reason is my english doesn't strong enough. If my score is just reach the requirement can i enroll in the Uni or i need to challenge with others students?

And what assignment do i need to prepare for ?
Is their a easier test than SAT ?
what job can i do their ? (prefer various of job such as journalist,waiter,...etc)
Which place to live in between uni dormitory and apartment?
What about the visa?

PS. I'm from Thailand.

Unfortunately strong English skills are neccessary for degrees like History. Perhaps for something like math or engineering they’d be more willing to overlook less than stellar egnlish skills but you’ll definitely need them for history. UCLA will require writing samples, not just SAT/ACT scores so they’ll know your ability level even if you manage to study a lot for the test and achieve their minimum requirements.

A better option for you might be to attend a community college for a while, focusing on improving your english skills. If you go to a community college in California, many of the credits may transfer which could save you money (this varies depending on the community college and the university you wish to attend so it’s a good idea to check with the admissions office).

Realistically, from the grammar and vocabulary of your post I feel you would need considerable improvement to be considered for history at any US school above community college level.

Did you earn a GED while in the US?

Are you in the US now?

If you are in the US, and have a GED, you can enroll at the closest community college. Depending on your immigration status, you might need to convert your visa to an F1. Some community colleges will permit you to study if you are undocumented, but others won’t. Your tuition and fees at that community college will depend on that community college’s policies, so you need to contact the admissions office and ask.

If you are outside the US, you need to read through everything at https://www.educationusa.info/</a> then pay a visit to the advising center closest to where you live. There are several in Thailand https://www.educationusa.info/Thailand</a></p>

Many colleges and universities will require that you take the TOEFL or another English proficiency examination such as IELTS. Often international students do not need to take the SAT or ACT, and are admitted based on their TOEFL or IELTS score. Read the information at the websites of the colleges and universities that you are interested in to find out what their policies are.

Students in the US with an F1 visa can work here, but there are restrictions on the locations the hours they can work. Contact the International Students Office at the colleges and universities that you are interested in to find out more about work regulations.
