I applied a little late to ucf about april 10. and i went on the website to check today and i got this message. (Below) But i never got an email and so what do you guys think this means for me?

We are offering you a place on our wait-list for future consideration. Certainly, we understand that this may make it difficult for you to finalize your college enrollment plans, especially as they relate to housing and responses to other offers of admission. Therefore, we are asking that you indicate whether you would like to be placed on the wait list or if you wish to cancel your application by sending an email to alice.hardy@ucf.edu. We anticipate providing you with a final notification of your admission decision no later than May 31st.
Please provide your full name and date of birth when sending your reply.

Disclaimer: This is your current status. Your status is subject to change at any time depending upon receipt of new information and further review by the Admissions Committee, and may be confirmed in writing via a letter from the Executive Director of Undergraduate Admissions.

Ask to be placed on the wait list anyways. You never know, a spot may open up.

What are your stats?

1190 SAT (no writing added) 3.5 GPA and im in several clubs and on my schools track team

Your stats sound pretty good to me. Does that include and Honors and AP courses? I know many people who scored less than you on the SAT and still got accepted. But they do have a variety of Honors and AP courses.

i have almost all honors courses throughout my high school career and several ap courses in 1th and 12th grade

You got a reply within 7 days? Lucky you D:

thats the thing it seems a little bit to soon so i was trying to get some opinons on why i got responded to so soon

To answer your question your application had a quick turnaround time mainly because of your credentials (strength of schedule, GPA etc). UCF usually reviews the applicants with the highest credentials and then saves the bottom of the pile for last. However, you are at a disadvantage because of the timing of your application. I highly suggest that your be put on a waitlist if UCF is the only school you applied to. If not, you should take into consideration the other offers you have received from your back-up schools.

I wish you the best of luck.
