I pledge allegiance....

wow, that has to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.

Besides fides, i AM the only republican on the internet fighting against the tyranny of liberals! Tommeister, all you DO is sit on the computer all day making posts on CC! I only have time to come on during the night. Therefore (philosophy lol), you ARE lazy. So, Im not surprised that you have trouble standing up for the pledge.

Any citizen who refuses say the Pledge, or at least stand in honor during it, should be kicked out of the country. No trial, no jury -- kicked the F*** OUT! Send 'em on a one-way flight to North Korea, in chains.

Not very Christian of you. Very conservative of you. What about Jesus' preach of forgiveness and loving thou neighbor? You're a hypocrit.

That's not very conservative either. In order to enforce people to always do the pledge when asked, it would require police following us almost everywhere (and the gov't would have to raise taxes to pay for it), which would be statist, not conservative at all.

..I'd like Christians if they were actually Christ-like.

They're not.

This country has given you EVERYTHING and you can't even find enough courtesy to say a few freaking lines in the morning?!

This country has everything it has in exchange for immense sacrifices, and debating the triviality of not saying the Pledge of Allegiance is goofy - as long as you pay taxes and vote, you're doing your minimal duty, and those are of far greater significance than an oral pledge.

And pledging allegiance to a flag per se is also in my opinion ridiculous - I would be much happier if we pledge allegiance to the Constitution every morning rather than a flag.

People like you and our Congress that just passed legislation to deny habeas corpus to "unlawful enemy combatant[s] engaged in hostilities or having supported hostilities against the United States" is why our country is on the way to self-destruction.

zipdrivekid and tipperian35: you guys are not making any sense and are disrespecting people when they bring up an idea that's different from yours. I say the pledge when I'm asked to and I don't care if the person next to me doesn't say it. I agree with the person who said that the flag is not the ONLY representative entity of our nation. There are many other ones.

Thank you bookfreak..and strkur, haven't seen you in a while.

I'm not a citizen, so there's no reason for me to say it. But even though I don't say it, i stand up every time because i like and respect this country.
PS It's illegal to force people to pledge by the way ...

"This country has everything it has in exchange for immense sacrifices, and debating the triviality of not saying the Pledge of Allegiance is goofy - as long as you pay taxes and vote, you're doing your minimal duty, and those are of far greater significance than an oral pledge..."

Amen!

Oh crap, I can't believe no one has recognized sarcasm in Fides's words :</p>

ZipdriveKid= the new Masterus

I swear.

Why should I even try to post anymore, zip? I started this thread to have a reasonable debate, and it turned out just to be an insult contest. And don't say, "Oh look, it's another cowardly liberal, running home with his tail between his legs after he gets beaten." Because it's a lie, not that that's stopped you in the past.

Based on Zip's immature attitude, lack of morality, and seemingly non-existent social capabilities, I would say he is in the realm of a 12 year-old. THe fact?

Zipdrivekid is a coward. Period. He is a coward becuase instead of actually making claims against another person's argument, he calls them names. Instead of making reasonable points, he has a hissy-fit.

I don't know if he really deep down believes what he is saying, or is just an attention who*. But if he does mean it, he needs to learn and take a step back and consider the other person's claim as **both* right and wrong.

Agreed. Totally.

disagree. Totally

How he mocks us.....

ZIp: at least give us a logical explination as to why you are defending yourself?

how you mock yourself.......
craze: I wasnt in on this thread during its early stages. Therefore, I have no right to get in on it now.

Yea well said, let me quote it one more time.
"I have no right to get in on it now".

P.S. You make no sense whatsoever.....

Thats what Zeus told me about you last night.
