Why do you NEED to get into Harvard?
With your stats, I`d say you do have a chance of getting in. But keep in mind that getting accepted is like winning a lottery- no one can accurately predict your chaces.
Get good recs, write a good application/essay, do an interview, etc and see what happens.

There are plenty of excellent schools besides Harvard. You need a better attitude. You DO NOT NEED to go to Harvard to have a happy, successful life.

No one knows, period. You have a chance, probably 5-10%, just like most qualified applicants. Looks like you're from NY state, so that doesn't help you any. You say you are a native Spanish speaker, does that mean hispanic? I see almost no leadership positions mentioned and not much in ECs, but good academics. Good GPA and test scores, what's your rank? You look like the typical book smart student without a lot of outside interests and no passions outside the classroom. Can you get in? yes. Will you get in? Who knows.

I need to get into McGill! After that I need to get into Wharton!

Good luck, but if I were you i'd look for a solid backup that you like. With your stats it should not be hard. And what is this about parents? Do you have legacy?

marina, you need to chill, you sound somewhat psychotic, no one knows your chances. You have as good of a shot as any other qualified applicant. Admissions is so unpredictable. But seriously, calm down, if you do not go to Harvard, life will go on...

Yeh, you would probably have an emotional breakdown and take weeks (or months) to recover... so never say you need Harvard... Needing is different than wanting.

your academics are good; ECs are bland, average, & nothing special. You have the same chance of getting in as every other qualified student does. Good luck...don't kill yourself if you don't get in. There's always Cornell.

Harvard doesn't care about the writing SAT. It always allowed applicants to take SAT IIs of their choice. Many took the SAT II writing, but that was only because other colleges required it.

OP, you do know that no one here (unless some adcoms happen to be here) is qualified to estimate your chances? It's like tarot cards or a crystal ball: fine for fun, but don't mistake guesses from uninformed strangers for reality.

You have a chance of getting accepted just as much as the 10-12% of the students who get accepted. Remember the vast vast majority of students applying to Harvard get rejected...not accepted. Harvard is considered a lottery school because each year many many well qualified applicants do NOT get accepted. There is no way for you to know if you are going to get accepted, unless your family donates many millions of dollars to build a new building or increase the endowment...or if you father is the president or some other equally prominent and wealthy official.

You aren't a legacy, a developmental admit, a football quarterback, a desired URM, the son of a Senator, Congressman, or Ambassador, haven't written a best-selling novel, and won an Olympic medal, and you hold no major patents. Assuming you don't require any financial aid, without any attention to your stats whatsoever, your odds are about 20 to 1. Let's give your stats etc. the benefit of the doubt, and say that your chances are twice as good as that.
