IU is one of the schools that a lot of kids from my high school go to, and I’ve heard a LOT of people (students, teachers, and internet) say “If you have a pulse, you’ll get into IU.” Or “IU takes everyone.” Or, “If you can’t get into IU, you don’t belong in college.”
But a lot of people tell me not even to apply because I’m basically an automatic rejetee. While some people think I’m in. And I just felt my chest, and I DO infact have a pulse.
Do you guys think it’s wort an app?

If turned down, just go to Ivy Tech for a year and then apply. You’ll get right in with good college stats since IU will barely even notice your less than stellar high school stats.
Research your major’s requirements at IU and take the tough classes at Ivy Tech that will transfer.
Are you an international student? If so, make sure to take the TOEFL and get a good score. My roommate has similar stats as yours, but he lacks the language proficiency requirement (he got 76 in the TOEFL test).
BTW: You are NOT an automatic rejectee in ANY school. If you really want to attend IU, you definitely should apply.
I certainly don’t think you’re an automatic reject, but you have some weak points. I don’t know if you can do that thing explaining an F, but if you can then that should help a lot if you have a good reason. SAT is decent, if I knew your actual GPAs then I could tell you more accurately what your chances are. Depends your program also. If you’re doing business, I can tell you now that I’m almost positive you won’t get into that. But anything else, probably will get in? Good luck!
