I Received an LOA

jq722:

Congratulations on your LOA. Don't want to fan the fires of your paranoia, but our son had his LOA yanked for wearing a "Navy Blue" blazer to his interview. Just kidding.

I doubt an LOA would be rescinded for B's in honors and AP classes. Main thing is to make sure all your USMA and nomination paperwork is completed on time, pass the DODMERB and stay heathy.

Enjoy your senior year, you've earned it.

jq722 - if you dropped from straight A's to staight B's, what would it do to your class rank? If your school is competitive it could drop your class rank way down, and from my understanding class rank is important to WP.
Enjoy your senior year - just don't enjoy it too much :)

Aspen: I know you were just kidding but I hope you've yanked the "Navy Blue" item from your son's wardrobe.

My LOA has a 11/15 deadline for completeness.

What is this 'October' talk about?

...you're makin' me nervous!

Also, next year kiddies, go to SLS if you want one of these handy, dandy letters.

Information-

Son received his LOA in July and he did NOT attend SLS or visit in any capacity. Just wanted to give next year applicants a different perspective. And he is NOT an athletic recruit.

Kat

jrbunz:

I expect that the deadline date specified in the LOA is based on when the LOA was issued. Last year, our son received his LOA in August and had an October 15th deadline for getting in his paperwork and an April 15th date for medically qualifying. If your letter says November, then that's the date you go with.

Congratulations on your LOA. It's a tremendous acheivment.

KAT,

i'm impressed, he got one in JULY!!!

must be a genius.

Everyone I had heard get an LOA was at SLS or IAW. It even mentioned my attendence in the letter. Did your son have an interview or something? Or was it like his 1550 SAT?

Yea my loa clearly stated October 15th is the deadline for all my materials. Today i overnighted and certified my candidate responses so I know they got there. Also certified my remedials yesterday for dodmerb. As of today, the waiting game begins.

P.S. I went to SLS and received one. Usually SLSers get the first batch of loa's as usma already has most of our info. Then in late october and november others get them cause their app is in. I know of a few kids who didn't go last year and received them in november
