I retook a class that I had already taken by accident, it is passed the drop date. What are the outcomes?

To whomever may assist with the situation

I have a peculiar situation.
I hadn’t realized until I was recently filling out my PTCAS applications that I had retaken a course from 2020 that I had previously passed with a C or better. I am taking the equivalent course currently in 2023. I am obviously too late to receive no grade associated with the course. The drop date was 9/10/23. The courses are equivalent between my community college and the university I transferred to. I would prefer to not receive a W since we are past the dropped date. What are my options regarding this accidental mistake? What are the outcomes you’ve heard about or have you been through something like this before?
Is there a way to remove the W?
How will my graduate programs view a W on my transcript if I were to receive one since I have already taken the equivalent course?
I received a B in my previous course and I am okay with that letter grade.

Not sure how this could happen but talk to your school, petition the Dean. Makes no sense. Maybe they’ll let you off.

Otherwise you’ll have to stay in or get a WD and explain it.

A WD alone or two won’t impact grad school.

Earn a high grade and just finish the course.

Grad schools vary. Non-terminal masters degree programs can be very forgiving if you meet the minimum requirements and have sufficient funding.

What is your academic area of study or targeted type of grad school ?
