<p>I feel like a dumbass, being rejected with a 20% acceptance rate (seems so high!). I didn't really care much but with all the stress about ivy decisions comming out, I realize that I pretty much uselessly worked my ass off for 4 years. Pointless much? Yeah.</p>

<p>~81% of the people who applied are rejected… seems like a high number to me.</p>

<p>Yup I know exactly how you feel. Waitlisted at top choices: cornell, johns Hopkins, and even vandy. Didn’t apply to any matches because financial aid would’ve sucked so it was all or nothing. After cornell, i cried for like 2 hours thinking that it was all a waste. But I realized that going to m y state school UF would be kinda cool, so I’m done being bummed out. Try looking for some of the positives in your situation as well, I’m sure you still the great options you haven’t realized or fully thought about yet.</p>
<p>Brand new, that’s exactly what I did. State schools and top schools due to aid. I was waitlisted at an ivy, too, so hopefully it works out for us. :</p>

<p>Pretty much did what xSteven and brand new did…state schools and ivys/other top schools due to low income. Luckily, however, I was accepted to UMich early on and ended up with a nice financial aid package. But dissappointed that I still couldn’t get into my top choices…also on waitlist. Hopefully, as xSteven said, it will all work out for us.</p>
<p>I know how you all feel. I was bummed for a while too, but then I figured that the state school is not so bad. Besides…there’s always transferring.</p>
<p>Wow… that really sucks for you guys… there’s our valedictorian who is such a suck up and grade grubber that he gets into harvard, penn, and columbia; DEFINITELY shouldn’t have gotten in to those… and there’re people like you guys who are really hurting…</p>
