Played various music concerts in Zambia to raise money for 3 orphanages.

erm, can't think of much else. Teacher rec's and counselor will be fantastic, essay was fairly good (i think!) and nothing else on my app will hurt my chances. Just curious, but can I have a consensus on whether being an ex-Zimbabwean, having gone through the land reform problems will help (help the poor african?).

So, what do you think. Appying to HYP Cornell and Duke?

Oh damn, forgot... need full financial aid...:(

Dont just think about Merit Aid, with ur App - U’d be in at Duke, Cornell with full Need -based aid… HYP may be a bit tougher, but iw ouldnt be surprised if u got it there as well

Thank-you. A sepecific concern though, is my lack of work experience going to play a part? I have never had a job, nor applied for one. I explained why this is in my app (I live in South Africa, with 25% unemployment, and there are people who need work more than me. It is also really hard for a school kid to get work here.) but not sure if this will still be a negative, and if so how large?

I wouldn’t worry about not having a job. It is definitely not one of the priorities for college admissions and your other stats are so strong I think you’ll be fine.

You’re in at Duke and Cornell. HYP are a reach, but that’s mostly just because of aid, you could DEFINITELY conceivably get into all of these schools. Good luck!
