I heard that another person from my school got a phone call from UVa this weekend telling her that she was accepted. She didn't get into any of the scholars programs, just a regular acceptance. Quite a bad way to find out actually. Did anybody else get a phone call I wonder?

No I didn't receive a phone call either. And you mean last weekend, because this weekend would mean that she already knows that she is going to get a phone call. In addition, you can't always believe what you hear, and I didn't even know that admissions decisions were release on the phone. Maybe Dean J could shed some light on this issue.

Admission officers don't call students with decisions. Sounds like this person didn't give the full details on this phone call.

Now the truth comes full circle.

And I just have a quick question. International students decisions were sent out so that they could receive them the same time as we could but they already received them so why don't we know our fates yet?

I don't think that's accurate. We send them out early for a few reasons, but to be frank, the international admission process is a little different.

Your decision will be mailed and posted on Friday, as I promised you it would.

Ok Sorry for asking so many questions, I am just a bit uneased. I guess I will drink so more tea to relax.

Just think: if you were an international student, you'd now have to start preparing for government interviews and gathering documentation for getting a visa.

You've actually got it pretty easy right now. The acceptance letter is the start of another round of applications for foreign students.

Pass the time by playing my "Caption this picture" game on my blog. I'm trying to think of something neat to give to the person who comes up with the most clever or funny entry.

How about an offer of admission?

haha joe, that's pretty clever, just not sure Dean J will go for it, but nice try. :D

I dunno, I asked around and got the same story several times. I kept asking if they got it confused with some other VA school, but they said no, it was definitely UVa. :-/
I guess it doesn't really matter anyway. The results are decided already, even if not everybody knows them yet.

I am little confused are you talking about the admission decisions?

We aren't in the office on the weekend and when The Virginia Society makes calls, they do it from our offices.

Hope that helps.

yeah I am talking about decsions.

Dean J, the Virginia Society? What is that?

Dean J-
IF my son gets in (we hope!) when will we find out about any merit money? Thanks.
