The postmark deadline for my remaining schools is the 15th, which is a national holiday (which means the colleges picked a very bad day). I went to three post offices today to try and mail my supplements and they had all closed early. This means stuff will have to be postmarked on the 16th....WHAT SHOULD I DO??? I know it takes a while to process everything anyway, but will these colleges not even consider me? I already submitted the Common App on time....I need help please!

Don't worry. When the PO is closed, they know it and will go by the 16th.

Using Express Mail, it'll arrive in one day.

I think colleges will be lenient on that issue.

You should call the college to check.

Both of the colleges are closed for the weekend and Monday...I tried that already. You guys don't think it'll be a big problem?

there have been posts on this topic before, so check for advice. I recall something about postoffices being open near airports 24/7. We had a scholarship ap with "submit by Jan 15" and phoned last Friday for clarification. They said, "we already decided to extend it to Tuesday Jan. 16, given the national holiday (Dr. Martin Luther King Day, for those readers overseas!)
It came up a few weeks back related to Jan. 1 deadlines, and then President Ford died. Same problem, almost, so look back around then for advice re: postoffices.

go to the usps website and search for post offices in your area. some post offices accept mail on sundays; they are postmarked on sunday but will not get sent out until after the holiday. the one closest to us was 12 miles from our home.

Not to worry. 16th is ok.

the 16th should be fine.

You'll be rejected. Might as well not apply...

Just kidding. Fedex it out ASAP Tuesday and you'll be fine.

I live in a rural, FedEx-less area...regular mail won't do?

Oh, for heaven's sake. Send it in the regular mail. You do realize it takes them at least a week to sort incoming applications, don't you? One day will hardly make much difference.
