A few these I'm apply at mostly just because it's free to apply and I'm not too far off from the reqs or about meet them. MSU and Indiana are ones I'm mostly looking at. Then UW-EC is a small school in Wisconsin where most of my friends are going so I figure why not.

I'm trying to find one other big school kinda like MSU and Indiana though.

3.4 gpa w/ 23 ACT only though.

any other ideas? I'm mostly looking to stay in midwest or possibly out east

If you could raise your ACT a few points, I would say you have an outside shot of UW Madison. Are you planning on retaking it at all? UW's website says that students with a 3.4 unweighted academic GPA and a 26 ACT have a 50% chance of admission. The fact that you are in-state will help.

Does UMinnesota-TC have a reciprocity agreement with Wisconsin residents? You would get in-state tuition there, i'd recommend there. Also check out the MSEP. Many schools will give you 150% in-state tuition. Here's a list of institutions. I would recommend University of Missouri-Columbia and University of Kansas.

yeah i can get in state at all minnesota schools. I'm not sure if I can get into minnesota with my stats though.

i was looking into kansas too but I'm not too sure.

You probably will get into Minnesota, the main factor in admission is your high school grades and you have what they're looking for. Minnesota's ACT range is only 1 point higher than Indiana's, if you get into Indiana (which you will) then you're going to get into Minnesota.

It's worth applying to, very cheap tuition and high quality academics. MSU and Indiana will be about $10,000 more per year than Minnesota, and all are essentially the same schools unless you are looking for a particular major.

I'd also try for UW-Madison if you can raise that ACT. Have you given thought about retaking it and/or taking the SAT?

I've thought about retaking or taking the SAT, but I'm guessing I have a better chance with applying early.

You don't, you would have a much better chance with a higher test score than sending your application in a few months earlier with your current test scores. An under qualified applicant who applies in August won't get in over a qualified applicant who applies in October.

well this last act was my 3rd time taking it. so i dont think i'll do too much better :
