SAT IIs are half as important as Sat I.
APs are half as important as SAT II.

it doesn't matter how important something is, the fact of the matter is that it is going to matter in the end, however insignificantly. Just because SAT IIs are not as important doesn't mean that they can just be ignored completely. Low SAT IIs may be the difference between getting in and being rejected.

^well said.

APs arent even important....at all

@aa6590: They are starting to be important. I heard there is now a spot to self-report scores on the Common App.

^ Uhhh there is a self-reporting spot, but considering that a big majority of top prep schools don't even have AP classes at all (like my school, that designed it's own classical curriculum), adcomms don't discriminate.

Now, if your school offers 10 AP classes, and you only take one, or if you take 10 AP classes and get 1s and 2s on every test, that's your problem.

What if the max one can take during their HS years at a given school is 4 and you have 6 AP results by Junior year? That's gotta count for somethin'!
