How much do SATIIs matter?

Are they gonna make a huge difference in my application? I don't have time to study and I'm taking them in a little over a week... can I wing it

I hope you're kidding...

They're worth a lot unless the college that you're applying to doesn't put much emphasis on them...

yes, they do matter, especially if you're planning on applying to more competitive schools. I would try to do as well on them as possible.

a lot of schools dont require it
i'd say theyre espicially important for HYP,etc

Unless you're applying to an Ivy, I don't think they count much unless you're on the bubble. My son is applying to 5 selective schools, and only one even "suggests" taking the SAT II. He's taking them this weekend and has not studied at all. It's making me nervous. Luckily his SAT 1 was pretty good. We're not sending any scores anywhere until we see how he does, in the big picture $9.50 to send a test score is not much money.

they're supposed to count even MORE than your SAT I.

^ totally wrong

^ totally wrong

No, thinkpink, the SAT I is more important.

An admissions rep from Georgetown came to my school today, and I specifically asked whether the SAT I and SAT IIs were weighted equally, and she said the SAT I is more important.

I don't think any school would say that SAT IIs are more important.

lol think pink is angry because he did ***** on the sat

Certain schools (UCs, for example) consider them to be on-par with the SAT..and actually, before the New SAT, the UCs multiplied the SAT II scores by two when calculating a student's overall test score, thus making them more important...so th1nk p1nk is correct in certain circumstances

Is there a certain website I can go to to chekc and see which schools require SAT II's instead of checking EVERY SINGLE school's webiste???

well the collegeboard matchmaker has an option that says

Do you want to find only those colleges that require or recommend Subject Test scores for placement?

don't really know what that means ("recommend?")

chillin til 08, try http://www.ivywest.com/satiireq.htm
