IT is so dumb because some black people are alot smarter than white people but they dont get accepted because of their skin.

what's the point of this thread?

well it really all depends

if you're going to a state school, the south is known for having very high in-state quotas so often 80-85% of students are from instate (majority probably being white since its the south)

but most private schools aren't really like that. unless its Bob Jones University in SC (haha, look it up on wikipedia)

and wheather they admit it or not, there is still SOME affirmative action present still because every school wants to be diverse to attract more students

but hey, thats life. i think the south is still sort of a backwards kind of place; i wouldnt want to go to school there anyway

its also dumb that a lot of colored people get in instead of smarter white people in the north because of affirmative action. dont be one sided.

^ i dont know if ur talking to me or op but i only adressed the south b/c thats what the thread is about

i was talking to bigdaddy, no worries :P
your post was fine :D

this kid is probably just mad b/c he got rejected from unc or something

i think it's really unfair to say that the south is still sort of a "backwards" place. that's a ridiculous generalization... i've lived in both the south and the north and they're pretty much the same. of course you'll still find some places in the south that may qualify as "backwards," but 99.9% of the south is not.

Bigdaddy, stick to the pokemon message board, big boy.

man this guy got owned, lol

I agree with COlsen; the fact that underqualified "URMs" get into the top-tier schools for the sole purpose of increasing so-called "diversity" and meeting racial quotas is a documented injustice. I'm not sure where the OP got his information from, but I have never heard of white people being favored at any university.

Yeah, I don't think whites are favored at southern schools. Where did you hear that?

he was probably rejected and just came here to rant....

probably right. I mean come on. Its the south. Just because racism is illegal doesnt mean it doesnt happen

now now, read the op's specific words. there are probably a couple of "central KKK community" colleges in southern towns straight out of deliverance that no one's ever heard of. however, i seriously doubt that there is any organized racial discrimination (except against whites, for aff. action) in the admissions office of any top school. i challenge anyone who thinks so to find me a pattern of highly qualified, rejected urms at any school whose spots were given to less qualified whites.

dukebball- i highly doubt u've been to 99.9% of the south so youre stat is purely opinion based. Ive also lived in the north and the south and ive developed my own opinions as well

Bigtwix- racsism isnt illegal, discrimination is.
