So according to my Cornell Admissions page, everything is in and done with, or so I thought. I'm applying to the Hotel School ED, and I finished all of the required things, but I received an e-mail recently from my local Cornell Alum that we should meet for the (ever so popular) "informational session" over the telephone or in a meeting.

What does this mean? Is Cornell checking me out to make sure that I'm legit? Should I worry at all?

(sorry for this thread you guys, I know that alot of people have posted threads like these, but I just want to know for myself)

No. It's mostly a chance for you to ask them questions. That's what mine was like - I met my interviewer in person, and it was like "Why do you like Cornell," "what are your academic interests," (but very informal) and then the rest was "do you have any questions"?

But then again, I get the sense that Cornell sends out all different alumni to do these things and give them pretty much free reign over what to do in interviews. So yours may be much different.
But I think in general an "information" interview will mostly be you asking questions.

Mine didn't ask me a single question... I felt like I was interviewing her! Definately prepare questions to ask... it really is an "info session"
