I thought I was ineligible for EOP but I got in...?

I got an e-mail from UCSB that I got into the EOP program.
I checked off the EOP box when I applied, but I later found out that one of the requirements is that your parents did not graduate from a 4-year university, which both of my parents did...
But I read this info on a Cal State website and I'm guessing UC's have different requirements?

My question is... was this a mistake made by UCSB?
'Cause I didn't get any e-mails from any other UC's regarding EOP.
If not, EOP is a helpful thing and I should be happy that I got it, right?

Anyone…?

looks like somebody at ucsb made a mistake. see the link below:

[University of California, Santa Barbara EOP - FAQ](http://www.sa.ucsb.edu/eop/FAQ/index.aspx)

I guess they did make a mistake. Only for first-generation students, right?

yes, that’s how i interpreted the language. according to the link, it said “low-income, … AND first-generation”. it didn’t say “OR”. it seems each UC does EOP a little differently. i would call the office (their number is provided in that link) and speak with someone just to make sure–because yes, EOP does provide certain positive benefits.

i hope i got in. thanks! i’ll call tmrw.
