I took the practice exam for the ACT but the score was bad

Hello I took it but I only get 21 and i'm a rising junior :(
English: 21
Mathematics: 25
Reading: 16
Science: 23

I seriously need help on the English and Reading. I know my grammar ain't that good so i'm practicing my best to improve it. Is there any grammar book I should buy to prepare for the ACT. I also need tips on the reading test like how to take it better. Lastly, I need tips for how to write an ACT essay because for the SAT essay I get 10 but for the ACT essay I only get 5. So I actually need help or should I give up?

Hello, I got the Princeton Review book for the grammar. The trick is to read the previous sentences to understand the tense of the paragraph and you can easily figure out the answer.

Sally needed her mom to braid her hair but…

And you can tell it was past tense, so find an answer choice similar to the tense.

For the reading section, underline as you read to minimize the time to reread when you’re answering questions. With this trick, I got a 31 on my first try.

honestly, i find that the easiest section to improve in is the english section. Buy Barron’s Act 36 and memorize all the annoying grammar rules. Make sure that you go through each grammar mistake you make in every test. if you don’t do this, there is no way you are going to improve. It honestly becomes so much easier once you notice the same grammar rules that just keep reappearing. With that and a lot of practicing- i mean take at least 10 practice tests- you should be able to get into the 30+. I got a 34 by just doing this.

Damn, Guys. Thanks for the advice. I aced the ACT test long time ago. You guys are AWESOME for helping me out!

@Impeccable20 What did you get on it? Also what did you do for studying?

If you did well on the SAT, why are you taking the ACT?
