So I turned in my application that was due on December 1 at 11:59 PM on December 1 at around 8:00 PM. I checked my portal today, and it says that my Common App wasn’t received until December 2. Does this mean that it was received on 12/2. Does this mean that the admissions people saw my application and checked that it was turned in the next day or does it mean that I missed the deadline?? Should I contact the admissions rep??
Sorry for the grammar mistake. “Does this mean…12/2 shouldn’t be there.”
The Common App time stamps a application based on EST.
Depending on the time zone you’re applying from, that could mean that your 12/1 is read as 12/2.
Be assured that colleges know which time zone you’re in.
I would contact the admissions office. At a minimum, it could alleviate the anxiety.
I really just want to double check that the dates on the portals are the dates that the school received and downloaded applications and not the day that I submitted them.
You’re fine.
I submitted my application before the early action/decision deadline to two schools but it still records it as the next day, for whatever reason. Even for the school with no grace period, I’m still in their early action program according to my online student application. It must just be the date in which the school receives your application, not date of submission.
