I want to apply early to college, I just don't know where I'm elligible for

I've looked at schools like the University of Pittsburgh and Penn State main campus, and I loved them. However, I feel like I won't get accepted to either because I have never done well on a standardized test. And I've taken the SAT twice and barely improved with studying.

I want to go to school for Pre-Med I've got A's in all of my science and math courses, but I feel like my standardized test scores aren't good enough. I want to major in Neuroscience and minor in a math course or political science course.

Do you live in Pennsylvania?

Do you live in Pennsylvania? If yes, then you will definitely get into those schools. If not, I still think you will get into both.

If you’re so worried about your scores just retake them in October, but make sure you get yourself a prep book or a tutor if you have the money.

Even if you don’t get in, there are plenty of students who get into medical school from the PA state colleges. Apply to Kutztown and West Chester. Less expensive route by far, and you would be more likely to stay at the top of your class.

If you are talking about applying Early Decision, then it is binding, so make sure you only apply to your #1 choice. Don’t base Early Decision off of which college you have the best chance at; rather, base it off of which college is your dream school, regardless of admission rate. If it’s still a tossup, just wait to apply Regular Decision to all of them!

You’re a great student. I agree with Ranza ^^^

I am a PA resident

There’s a long list for PA schools, as well as schools for all other states. I don’t know about any of their early policies

It appears that both universities practice rolling admissions. Apply to both and see what happens! If you are admitted, can afford it, and it is your top choice, then you will be all done!

Also, no one mentioned this, but you may want to look into test-optional schools. Your GPA, course rigor and class rank are excellent, and your ECs aren’t too shabby either. You can find a list of test-optional schools here: <a href=“ACT/SAT Optional List - Fairtest”>http://www.fairtest.org/university/optional

OP, Pitt loves rank. Combined with your GPA, I think you’re in good shape. One benefit of Pitt EA is that you hear back early and can make app decisions based on what you hear from Pitt. I don’t know how the ACT will affect merit, but you’re in-state so that should help. Pitt hands out merit in these categories: full ride, full tuition, and in 5K increments to 20K, in my experience. You’re possibly a candidate for some merit.
