After thinking long and hard about what I want to do, I have decided to become a school counselor (I'm actually going to double major and get a degree in Computer Science too, just in case this doesn't work out). But I don't know what to major in. Do I major in psychology? Does anyone know? Thank you so much

Check your school’s education department because sometimes those kinds of programs are included there. Otherwise, I would speak to an adviser because they do know best, and they can direct you to paths and majors that you might not have considered.

Talk to your adviser, probably in the education department. You will probably have to get your bachelors in psychology or counseling and you may need to get your masters in school psychology too.

I thought about doing the same thing but I didn’t want to have to wait until I finish my masters to be able to work an entry-level job.

Talk to your guidance counselor and ask what they majored in

When you say school counselor do you mean a guidance counselor that helps students with class schedules, college applications, scholarships, etc or counselor as in like someone to talk to? There was a different in those two at my high school.

I would say talk to your adviser at school and they could help to find out what to major in.

If you want to be a counselor like someone students talk to for problems then you will probably need a masters in school psychology. I don’t know what you would need to be a guidance counselor but I know that do make good money !
