i got stuck in a bio lab 4-8 on thursday night and want to switch to a wed 1-5, which most likely has spots available in it ....however, my current lab instructor told me that id have to e-mail the department head with a legit reason for why, and not just because it would be more convenient

anyone got some tips for why "i cant do this thursday lab"?

It's that hard for you to change classes? That stinks. Where I go, we can go online and change into any open section. I have 2 labs in one day right now (2-5, then 7-10), but all other 15ish sections of both are full...so I'm stuck.

Maybe you have something extracurricular going on, eh?

If it has open sections, methinks lab instructor doesn't know what (s)he's talking about...or (s)he probably thinks you want to change into a closed lab section.

If there's a registration office on campus...I would take my case to them and act ignorant, and say you need to change sections.

It's really odd you have to do that, but if you have early classes that day say it's too late in the day, or that you'd like to have that time open for extracurriculars, etc. Shouldn't need too imaginative of an idea.

i would say that all of these things hinge on the fact that the class "most likely" has spots in it. check first, to make sure it does, and then you have many good exuses as to why you have to switch.
