Thank You.

Your SAT is quite good, but your grades will be an odd contrast to your scores. Michigan is not entirely out of reach, but you're going to have to have a good reason for your lack of performance early on. Out of state will make things difficult as well; Mich. accepted 47% last year, including those from in state. If I were you, I would try to emphacize your ethnicity, as it will make you stand out (not to mention, Mich. is a sucker for diversity)
best of luck

International admissions to UMich are brutal, and GPA takes precedence over standardized test scores. However, UMich doesn't count freshman year grades, so the GPA they use when considering your application will be significantly higher (a 3.7).

Contrary to the above posters comments, being Korean is not a hook.

You have a chance. I'll still call it a reach.

thank you for an honest criticism. What would I have to do to increase
my chance of being accepted into UMich?
Also, I'd love to hear my chances for other colleges as well. Thank You~

Gap, I didn't know that they took away frsh. grades; my mistake. I stand by my ethnic argument, however. It's not a "hook," but it's a darn good essay topic if done in a unique way.
I think you'll be fine i_fate.
