I want to go to a boarding school.

JK, the picture that pops up when you go to the Brentwood site reminds me of Tabor Academy. The the pics change and you see the snow capped mountains that make the West so beautiful.

Yeah, it looks like a really nice school.

ski_chick, there is a United World College in BC. At UWCs, 100% of students get financial aid. They attract incredibly interesting students from all over the world, since the whole point is to be international. I am consistently impressed with UWC grads I have interviewed on university scholarship committees.

Check out http://www.uwc.org/ to see all the schools. The one near Victoria is Pearson College: http://www.pearsoncollege.ca/

You apply internationally to the UWC system rather than to a specific campus, so there is no guarantee you would get the BC campus. Ending up living on the Adriatic or at a castle in Wales doesn't seem like such a bad deal either, though. If being in BC is an absolute must, this may not be a realistic choice, but I thought I would throw it out there.

If you're interested and have questions about applying to the Canadian committee, PM me and I can try to put you in touch with a Canadian aquaintance who attended the campus in Wales.

Ok so I am planning on applying to boarding schools in the NE for the next school year. Jonathan, you seem to know a lot about these schools. Which ones are the most well know? I am currently going to St. Agnes Academy in Houston, Texas, and I have a 4.1 GPA. I am planning on applying to Andover, Groton, Deerfield, Crushing, and The Masters School. So I was just looking for your opinion.

By the way, I'm a freshman this year.

The most well-known ones on your list are (in order of prominence, I think) Andover, Deerfield, and Groton. The three most well-known ones overall, though are probably Andover, Exeter, St. Pauls.

One question, though. Why does it matter to you which ones are the most well-known?

Well then, go. :)
