Hi,
I was accepted into SB through being invited to the Chancellor Reception last Sunday. UCSB may be a possible destination for me for college and although I want to pursue to major in Chemical Engineering and eventually become a doctor, I also want to experience the party life that UCSB has a reputation for. From current students and any others who have attended the university, I would like to know if that would be possible. I would also like to know what it is like to be a student at UCSB from your perspective.

I attended some time ago, and can tell you the experience is excellent, and you can go anywhere from there as long as you can show judgment in time management. You can definitely party, but you have to remember that isn’t the reason you are in college. Watch your first quarter, and after that you should find your stride.

My niece went more recently and is currently waiting for her residency results, after medical school.

Students there don’t spend a ton of time here during the school year, but one recently started this thread and if you post in it he might respond when he stops by. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-santa-barbara/1616370-good-luck-all-prospective-baby-gauchos.html#latest
