I'm currently going to Orange Coast College, and want to transfer out after first year to USC, and major in economics. I already took calculus, ap literature, 4 years foreign language and all that in high school. Is it necessary that I take calculus again at occ? And also is it necessary to take english literature as well? Can I just take composition instead? Currently, I'm taking composition, astronomy, macroeconomics, anthropology, calculus. Am I on the right steps?

There really isn't anyone here who can give specifics for you on what YOU need to take to transfer. You are going to have to dig deep into the transfer admission pages on the USC website. Here are some places to start:
USC Undergraduate Admission - Transfer Credit & Policy
USC Undergraduate Admission - Core Requirements
http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/private/0910/TransferPlanningWorksheet09.pdf

USC has an articulation agreement with OCC so you will be able to find out if your classes will transfer:
https://camel2.usc.edu/articagrmt/artic.aspx

Economics is in CLAS (College of Letters, Arts and Sciences)- take some time on their web page-
USC College : Transfer Applicants

Good luck!

cc411 has given great advice. I wanted to add that each of the Community Colleges has an advisement staff that are very familiar with all the details about transfer to USC. Might I suggest you go in and made an appointment with a counselor to see how your classes and proposed classes will work out?
