I was deferred to RD

I applied early action and was deferred to regular decision. I would like to know what my chances are at being accepted. My GPA right now is a 3.58 and my ACT score was a 28. I had 8 extracurricular activities, and am reporting one more at half year. Furthermore, my first quarter GPA was a 4.0 and my second quarter looks like it will be around a 4.25 as of right now (these are all of course weighted). I wrote a decent essay, and was obviously hoping to get in. What are my chances of getting in at this point?

You could still get in. My daughter was accepted (she only applied RD) with a 27 ACT and a 1740 SAT and a GPA of 3.8, (she is graduating from Fordham in May). Let’s just say taking standardized tests just aren’t her thing.

What exactly are you looking to pursue in your studies at Fordham?

@bs23432 at least you were deferred - my S was simply denied acceptance - so sounds like you still have a good chance! Good luck!!

Finance is my intended major. Also would it benefit me to send a third letter of recommendation?

@bs23432 for what it’s worth what I have been reading on these boards is that the more interest you show, the greater the chance you will get a spot! I think this had something to do with my son’s outright denial. He visited and then failed to respond to subsequent updates and event invitations. He simply ignored the emails and the contacts from the director because he really didn’t place it high on his priority list. I would have your guidance counselor contact admissions and let them know they are your first choice (if they are) and would follow up with whatever else you can - especially really good 1/2 year grades/midterms - if applicable. But, definitely reach out! Talk to your guidance counselor right away and see how they can help! Best of luck!

Thanks
