I went from a 550 in writing to a 700..

I went from a 51 Raw Score; 9 Essay (550)... to a 67 Raw Score; 11 Essay. (700)

Writing seems to pester a lot of people here. I never really considered myself to be 'weak' at writing. But I wasn't used to 'identifying errors' to say the least.

I must credit my improvement to Kaplan. I practiced for about a week (an hour a day) and I seriously felt as if I was ready to attack the test.

I know this isn't particularly an exceptional score on when compared to the scores of most on this board, but I do know that there are people who struggle with the writing section..

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask.

What in your essay do you think you did to improve it?

The first time I took the test was in March. In that essay, I think I rambled a lot.

For this essay, I was concise. I chose two very good points for my essay and offered support.

Perhaps I just improved as a writer since March. I didn't really do any preparation for the essay. I always felt as if I could write a 10-12 essay.

When my essay goes online, I will type of the 9 and the 11 and send them to you.

congratulations!
the complete opposite happened to me.
i never scored below 700 on my practice tests (i took tons of them), and guess what, i got a 600 on my real one :)
the collegeboard must have made a huge mistake, right?

That sucks. Sorry to hear that. :(
