I went to a CC after a 4 year. Will universities look at the CC GPA and the cumulative GPA?

Basically, I had severe epilepsy and didnt do too well at my university in CS. I had seizures once a week until I had a couple neurosurgies. My university was not very accommodating when I missed classes because of my health, one of the reasons I want to transfer besides not having a good bio program.

So I left and also drastically switched majors at a Community College. I did much better and got a 3.83 there.

I was wondering if universities I applied to for transfer would look at my cumulative GPA, which is a 3.56, and my CC GPA. Or if they would only look at the cumulative GPA, then stop since its not too high?

I ask that because I was mostly wondering if I had a chance at UC Berkeley, UCLA, USC, or Duke for biology? Also I know this may be ridiculous, but would it be crazy to apply to Stanford (im aware the acceptance rate, I live next to the school)? I thought I had a slight chance with a 3.83 at the CC until I saw that these schools wanted the cumulative GPA as well. Which means I’d have to send the 3.56 & 3.83 + my 32 ACT.

I’ve had a couple internships, done some teaching in CS, and I was going to write about my experience with my epilepsy over the last few years.

If you think those schools are out of reach for sure, can you give me some recommendations + advice?

Thanks

All of these places will look at both your university and your CC transcript. How they will evaluate everything is up to them.

Usually newer grades count for more than older grades - especially when the student has changed fields and has performed much better.

So youre saying theyd look at a 3.27 GPA in CS (I only went to my university for two years), my 3.56 (overall GPA), and my recent 3.83 GPA in Biology (Community College)?

Also, what universities do you think I should apply to with those GPA’s?

They will look at all of your college courses and grades/GPA.

https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major may help you with chances for UC transfer, if you meet the specific course requirements for UC transfer and your major at the target campuses.

Would you happen to know anything similar to that website for universities in general? Like Universities besides UCs?
Thanks!
