I also have an 1820 SAT and my Class Rank is 5 out of 232.
I have been accepted to UNC Chapel Hill and NC State. I am waiting to hear back from Duke, the Naval Academy, and the Air force Academy. My top pick is the USNA. Could you guys chance me? I will chance back!

Navy: Reach
Air Force: Reach
Duke: High reach (being in-state won’t save you)

@Catria How is the Air Force and the Navy reaches for him? I would say that it’s matches.

Navy admits 7% of all applicants and the admits are, academically, all over the place… and Air Force has to deal with similar realities.

I would agree, due to their low acceptance rates I would say reaches for those. Academically your fine but I think the academies like interest in government activity which you don’t seem to have. Duke I would say is a low reach.

USNA and USAFA is a reach for almost everybody. Your SAT is a bit on the low side, but is not out of bounds. Your extra-curricular activities are excellent. You are definitely competitive for the academies.

Sorry, but “interest in government activity” is not at all necessary.

As a “Plan B”, I hope that you applied for Naval ROTC and Air Force ROTC scholarships. Nobody should plan on getting into a service academy.

Navy: Reach
Air Force: Reach
Duke: Reach (that 1820 SAT will kill you there)

great candidate for academies. Match for both
High reach for Duke, but only because of SAT. Other stats may help. maybe one of lucky few
