i really dont understand the point of this thread. if your kidding then you are either:

a) making fun of CCers with perfect resumes (yourself)

or

b) bragging

Your recent chance thread:

"GPA: 4.7 w, 3.9 uw
rank: school doesn't rank, but probably top 5/500
PSAT: 235 (80cr, 80m, 75w)
SAT2: 800BioM, 800Chem, will take like 3 this year just for fun"

"went to USAMO"

So basically you just made this thread to get people to tell you you were actually smart? Or was it a brag thread?

Either way, it's lame.

And stupid.

Contrary to the fact, present, subjunctive, conditional statement.
"...were...would..."

Keep that in mind, you silly, silly girl.

The 75 percent male population at CalTech is explained by millennia of gender discrimination.

I find it funny how high schools these days are failing to educate young men and women so that they will have some sort understanding of social, political, and ethical issues. Sad.

You are right. Your high grades and testing scores imply that you are a diligent, hard worker. But, yes, you are not very smart.

Sorry for wailing on you : /

I don't want to be smarter. Have you ever noticed how happy dumb people are?

i didn't make USAMO...you misread my thread

no, i'm not joking =[

PERFECT resumes don't mean you're smart, BTW

i wouldn't say that. in fact i don't think that my grades/test scores say anything at all, just taht i'm a good test taker >.<

Would probably explain why I'm as happy as a clam. ;)

The point is, smart people want to be smarter. Average people want to be smart. Dumb people want to be butterflies.

Alex

235 PSAT. Wow. You're dumb. How come below 237?

see , that's the point. i'm not saying that i'm a hard worker and that i study, but my test scores and grades just show that I'm good at picking the right answers and writing whatever the teacher wants me to write. Nothing else.

This is really off-topic narcissa, but how did you become a senior member in less than 2 months? haha.

Alex

i post too much

Haha, wasn't making fun. I was actually really impressed!

Alex

lots of random posts, like this one =)

ugh. i'm way too inconsistent doing math problems. I can score high when I'm feeling well, but most of the times the tricky creative solutions just don't present themselves. >.<
[/quote]
that's not because you're a girl or because you suck at math. in fact, your test scores show that you are great at mathematics. it's because you aren't great at calculus... yet. my tip is that you should stop thinking about solving certain types of problems certain ways. that's a bad way to think about it. think about the various techniques used in Calculus as tools that you can use to achieve objectives. think, "what can I do to make this problem easier?" Calc II/almost any higher level class/any job/life in general will be very difficult for you if you cannot "learn" to be creative and think for yourself.

lol, i wish i can think of all those "what can i do to make this problem easier?" techniques--especailly for math competitions, too, where it seems like everyone finds so easy =P (especially on AoPS groans)

btw my school math is like competition math >.< haha
the teachers make it hard on purpose, cuz they're sadistic and like to laugh at all their failing students (no joke or exxageration!!!)

I'm no math genius either. Freshman year, though, I decided I wanted to take AP Calc senior year, so I started to go to a tutor for an hour three days a week after school, which was no joy. I worked hard and manage to now scrape roughly 98% in Calc. Those 'techniques' math geniuses make up in a second take me an hour to figure out though. It's just perserverence that works.

lol
thanks guys
i guess there's a billion levels of "smartness." and nobody will ever be on top, cuz there's always someone better. we're all lucky that we're all able to do everything that we do (take 6 APs, okay GPA, etc). i kno some people who really do want to do well, and they try very hard, but can't. =P i guess if i have a lot of time maybe I'll take a class from AoPS or something

I hate my GPA.
