<p>Hey actually, the reason women think they do bad on tests is due to stereotype threat. There was an experiment where they mixed women with guys and told them that women generally do worse than men on this test and then they gave them a math test. And in the other group the women were separated from men and the testers did not say anything about the test. In the first group men scored way higher than women, and in the second group men and women scored almost the same.</p>
<p>So the point is, if you believe that you suck at math, you will suck at math.</p>
<p>I just need to break that whole "women suck at math" stereotype.
I'm currently in AP Calculus, and I'm probably beating a lot of the guys in that class.</p>
<p>This past quarter I had a 98 average (without the weight), and I do plan on getting a 5 on the AP exam.</p>
<p>So not all women are bad at math.</p>
<p>ugh. i'm way too inconsistent doing math problems. I can score high when I'm feeling well, but most of the times the tricky creative solutions just don't present themselves. >.<</p>
<p>All I know is doing well in math classes/AP calc tests do not mean you are good at math. It just means you studied long enough to learn the material. Some of the people in my calc class got tutoring every other day after school and then thought they were "awesome" at math, while I was only 2-3% behind and perpetually had to put off all the hw till the day before due to ec's.</p>
