I would have to fly in for Camp Crimson. Is it worth it?

I used Amtrak for Mom’s weekend and loved it!

Just to add a contrasting viewpoint: I didn’t do Camp Crimson and I have never regretted it for even a moment. The upperclassmen students that run the program are EXTREMELY PASSIONATE about it, so I’m sure it’s a great experience. However, there are many people like me who chose not to go or people that went and thought it was just fine. If Camp Crimson sounds like it would be fun to you, then definitely do it. If the money is a limiting factor, seriously do not sweat it. You won’t feel behind at all because you “missed out” on learning some traditions early and I don’t think you’ll have any trouble making friends.

S1 passed on Camp Crimson - cost too much to come from the 49th state. He did not feel like he missed anything & was able to track it all via social media so he could see what he (didn’t) miss. Made solid friends the first day via IV - is now a junior and happy as a clam. Don’t sweat it imo
