I haven't had an interview yet.

I'd appreciate ur honest feedback (good or bad) and maybe some tips.
Thanks :)

i think you have a good chance. your EC’s are very strong. do you have any awards? only concern is that you’re asian… (im also asian, chinese) usually the boarding schools in USA don’t accept a lot of asian students, and there are soooo many applicants from asia. sigh.

try to schedule an interview as soon as possible. you must hav an interview, at least like a skype interview or something. and write good essays =D

Self studying Bio AP is going to be very, very helpful in your app I think. Speaking as a guy who got a taekwondo black belt in 5th grade (yeah. im serious) I’d say that a 3rd degree black belt isn’t that high…i mean, it’s high but it isn’t that high. I like the volunteering bit, grades could be a bit more solid.
I’m not sure about this piece of advice, people, feel free to ridicule me, but I don’t think basketball should even be mentioned during the interview until they ask you what sports you do, and even then just mention it briefly. I don’t think boarding schools like people who give up on stuff. Just a thought.

chance me btw. :D

It’s always tough applying as an asian but I think you have a pretty good chance. You have good grades and strong ECs. About the PSAT and SSAT, I’m not positive about this but both tests have the same subjects but the PSAT is known as the preliminary SAT. The SAT is what you send to colleges and the PSAT you take your junior year (if you score high enough you get recognized by the national merit scholarship)
