I am currently self-studying AP Chem because the class is not open to sophomores. Would that be worth mentioning?
I petitioned for math analysis (only 1 person every three years passes)
The only AP offered to sophomores is Euro, but I successfully petitioned to take Enviro as well

Other Information:
I'm a twin and a lot of our material is similar ( bio self study, math evaluation, ECs)-Does that increase my chances or would it be detrimental?
I'm Asian (Korean)
I go to public school
I won my school's reflections for my poetry. Does this make any difference?
I won/placed in a few district math competitions back in the day
I won the Presidential Academic Award
I haven't had an interview yet but I will

I'd appreciate ur honest feedback (good or bad) and maybe some tips.
Thanks

your twin is detrimental. you’re asian and that’s detrimental. being in 10th grade is going to kill your chances off.

Otherwise I’d say you’re pretty much average for a tenth grade Asian applicant on CC.

OK. Final rating:73/100

don’t hate

why would those things hurt me? I get that there might be a lot of asians but wouldn’t there be less competition for junior applicants? And can you explain how my twin is detrimental?

They accept less juniors than sophmores or freshmen.

your twin is detrimental because the both of you have similar stats and schools don’t want a replica of one person (no pun intended – statistically speaking)
there isn’t less competition for junior applicants, it’s one of the hardest grades to get into. lots apply (fewer than soph/frosh) but they take far fewer juniors, too

Upper year is not one of the hardest grades to get into, and if you’re twin is not applying, then it doesnt matter, and being Asian doesn’t lower your chances, anyways, you have a good chance, good luck from a fellow 10th grader!

“being Asian doesn’t lower your chances”

explain?

I don’t think the twin will kill you. Look at Andover’s viewbook, they talk about two twins who are at Andover. I bet there are twins at top schools.
