I need to decide between taking computer science and chemistry. I'm going for the IB Diploma and my current schedule looks like this:
English HL
Biology HL
Business and Management HL
French Sl
Math Sl
Chemistry SL.
I could take chemistry over the summer and replace Chemistry SL with Computer Science HL. I want to get a bachelor's degree in applied science, so I was just wondering which would look better.
Also, is IB Computer Science HL a very tough class? I don't have any computer science background so I need to know.

Yes CS HL is very hard, and probably not doable if you have zero CS experience. However you already have 3 HL’s, so unless you want to overload, you don’t really need a 4th one.

From someone who did 4 HLs and received a diploma, you might want to be careful about not overworking yourself. In the long term your sanity is worth significantly more than an extra HL. Most HLs are very tough classes, I’d imagine Computer Science is pretty rough considering HL Biology was rough for me even after taking AP Biology as a sophomore. HLs often do grant you more college credit, but they’re not easy. Good luck though! I’d pick the one you think you’d enjoy the most, not the one that would look best on your application. The IB is hard enough as is. ( : Good luck!!
