Hi!
I’m contemplating whether to take IB Philosophy or IB History (as my group 3 requirement for IB Diploma). I’m leaning more towards philosophy, but I’m concerned that colleges don’t see it as rigorous enough (T10 colleges). Any insight on this?
I would choose the subject you are more likely to get a 7 or a 6 in. They are equally rigorous and so the better grade will stand out. IB history seems to be a more common course and so perhaps look into which one is better supported at your school.
I think most would see Philosophy as more rigorous or at least as rigorous as History. It’s also more likely to stand out to T10 colleges. But… as long as you can handle it, it’s a rather difficult course.
