Choice 1:
Taking IB Psychology and getting a better GPA.

Choice 2:
Taking IB History and getting a lower GPA but showing that you've taken the more "established" and "traditional" subject.

I'm interested in both subjects. There are many people taking Psych at our school and getting A's. There are relatively fewer people taking History because it is hard but the teacher is really good.

Do the colleges look at the subjects or do they care more about the GPA?

i would probably just say go for the GPA.

psychology is still a respectable subject and outweighs a lower gpa

i think history. In fact, psychology isn't even recognized here in my province, and you have to take a regular social studies in order to graduate.

I meant that because it's not recognized, it's not as good.

Besides, course rigor counts a lot too, doesn't it? History is a lot better than psychology in my opinion.

Thanks to both of you. But two contradicting advices do confuse me.

wait, IB is like the same thing as AP right?

what does IB stand for?

No, it's a different program. It stands for International Baccalaureate.

it is the hardest possible high school courses available..wel..thats what i heard, and plus im in the IB diploma class.

i think IB>AP>Honors>normal in terms of rigor

okay basically it depends on how different your gpa will be. If it'll be a lot less for history, then probably psyc will be better. But if it's somewhat simliar, then history is better

PLEASE DO NOT GO DOWN THIS ROAD!

I say IB Psych :) Because I hate history.
