Hi, I'm doing the IB and I have some questions about applying to UK Universities.

OK, so my school gives me a predicted mark, which I then use to apply to University.
Do I need to show UK Universities my previous exam results related to the IB as evidence, or not?

Because I didn't do very well in my first year IB annual exam, mainly 5s in HL subjects and 4-6s in SL. But my teachers says this is normal and you will be able to achieve a 6 by the end of the second year. So if I show my exam results, Universities are going to think I'm a retard.

Also, do my IGCSE results effect my admission to UK universities.

Thanks.

What country are you in?

In the meantime, you might want to check the websites for the colleges you are interested in. And see what their actual requirements are.

Some universities like Edinburgh look at IGCSE’s (just Math, English, a language and a science. I think these have to be above a B or C for your application to be considered) - look more into this. Other universities don’t care but I think most will ask you for an IGCSE certificate if you did them.

Also, unis in the UK only care about the predicted grade, and then eventually your final grade. They dont get to see any of the blotches you might have made in between
hope this helped!

Although GCSE results dont normally make up part of the conditional offer, many universities expect at least a C in maths and english or equivalent qualification if you are from elsewhere. But most 6th forms would require that to do IB or A levels anyway.
