I have average stats (2250 SAT, 800 SAT IIs) for an Indian (international) and I have pretty good ECs with a lot of leadership (particularly in the major I am interested in - Economics). I am a full IB candidate and these are probably my predicted grades:

Maths HL: 5 or 6
Physics HL: 7
Economics HL: 7
English A1 SL: 5 to 7 (most probably 6)
Philosophy SL: 6 or 7
Spanish Ab Initio: 7

Essentially my predicted grade may be between 37 and 41 out of 42 (I would anticipate 39 or 40).

How would my worst case and best case scenario look for the following schools:
Cornell
Wharton
University of Michigan - Ann Arbor
University of Chicago
UC Berkeley
Carnegie Mellon
Emory
HYPSM

Thank a lot.

My SAT scores are hypothetical. I have taken many practice tests and received scores between 2230 and 2320. As for the SAT II, I have got 800 in all practice tests.

You won’t know your official IB scores (the ones that REALLY count) until after you have been accepted to colleges and chosen one to attend in the fall. I took two IB tests my junior year and recorded those scores on the Common App, but I didn’t even report my predicted scores (my school doesn’t tell me). IB scores aren’t nearly as important in your college application as your SAT scores, GPA, etc.

^Your teachers should have told your GC your predicted scores to include on your rec.

That’s the point I am trying to make. I am a full candidate at an international school where only IB is offered so it WILL be on my application. We do not report GPA so the only report of my academic achievement in school in junior and senior year will be the IB predicted.

Then I’m sure colleges will somehow convert your grades to a rough GPA. I am fairly certain they will not use your IB predicted scores in lieu of your GPA or SATs or whatever to assess your application.

I am not sure how they convert IB scores into grades but I think it is as follows:

7=A+=5 in AP
6=A=4 in AP
5=B=3 in AP?

I guess based on that my worst case scenario for GPA is 3.85 or so UW and 4.4W and my best case scenario is 4.0UW with 4.8W.

Anyone who goes to school in US that does IB care to explain how their school converts IB to GPA?
