Ick, a C!

Well, I was just thinking about this, and I'm getting nervous. I had a rough freshman year, only came out of it with a 3.0 GPA. I took all honors, and that took a while to get used to, coming from middle school where you never work. I got a C in Honors Biology. Now, from my transcript, you can tell I'm not a science person; I've always performed better in other classes. But my science grades aren't all bad, A in Honors Chem, B in Honors Physics, and an A+ last quarter in AP Chem.

I'm hoping that they'll pass over it because it was freshman year and it's not all that important. Senior year is turning out to be one of my best years grade-wise and certainly my toughest course load.

What will Cornell think of my C?

It depends on a lot of other things. One grade is a very small factor.

Also, what is your intended college/major? You say you arent a science person, so I presume its not engineering, CALS, or the "S" part os CAS. It might not matter if you are applying to, say, the hotel school.

One C in grade nine won't make a difference.

I'm hoping it won't matter...I'm a government major by the way.

you think you have it bad? first semester freshman year I got 2 c's,1 d and b's (IB 5.0 scale). second semester I made 1 c, rest a's b's, and from thereon out I made all a's and b's. I got deferred ED from COE, so even with all those bad marks, I guess I still have a chance.

what about a C in senior year?

I may get one of those too :(

if you are deferred or applying RD, then getting a C on your midyear report senior year is probably really bad. my g.c and cornell told me that senior grades are really important, so getting a C will hurt you. i feel your pain though im trying to get my grades up this year too :(

how about one or two Bs/B+ and the rest As (senior year)?
