OH NOES A C!!!!11111oneoneuno

I got a C my Freshman year in math which is clearly my weakest subjecy, as expressed in my application. I have maintained a 3.94 weighted GPA since with all A’s and B’s. As far as a GPA goes, is this good enough for Cornell? What about Boston College? Thanks.

A C won't kill you, especially if it was your freshman year. However, a 3.94 W might be considered low for C and BC.

I don't understand how people say certain weighted GPAs are low when people don't explain their school's weighting system.

Your so screwed.

Just kidding...if it's your weakest subject..do what it takes to become good at it..easier said than done I know...but you have to at least try.

Sorry folks; weighted grades are absolute nonsense. If you are taking an AP or honors class you are expected to be able to perform at a higher level. However, superior is still superior and above average is still above average. You don't get to say you are superior when in fact you are above average in a higher level course. Admissions staff will give you credit. They know a B in a honors class is more valuable than an A in a non honors class. I don't know how people so easily go on about their high weighted GPAs.

spaceman,
what's your class rank like? Weighted GPA out-of-context is really hard to evaluate.

Yeah, your right. Im in the top 10%. Is top 10% pretty much a safe place to be for most colleges?

Top ten percent should be ok at BC, and mostly ok at Cornell. Assuming the rest of your application is also good. The waiting's a bear, isn't it!
