I have been in love with UVa all my life. UVa is by far my number one choice! UVa>HYPS anyday...lol

Thanks in advance for anyone who chances me!

Are you a diploma candidate? I find it interesting that there is no foriegn language component. Also the HL Math and AP Calc AB seems an odd combination. Calc AB would closely compare to HLMath I which you took last year. HOA is also a jr year offering. Are you doing Topics this year or just lumping HOA in to cover both?

I am an anticipated full diploma candidate. I am taking 3 online courses in addition to my IB courses so I can hopefully receive college credit. I plan on taking the BC test however but the only online calc class is AB.

Also, I took 5 semesters of spanish. I simply listed some of the harder courses that I was taking unlike some of my IB friends who take anthropology and art.

BTW, I got a 5 on the SL Spanish B test and 5 on the SL physics test.

D had similar stats except her strength was English not math. She had better AP scores. Legacy also. Was waitlisted. School rank is very important. If you are in top 10%, then you have a good chance.

Really? I had no idea it was so important...I thought class rank was similar to the importance of guidance counselor recommendations. How can UVa put so much emphasis on it when every school does it so differently?

Other schools do put a large emphasis on class rank, jask. Try to understand what exactly class rank represents and why it would be important to someone judging your academic achievements.

cavalier302, I clearly understand what class rank is and why colleges would use it for admissions. However, I am sure that universities can tell the difference from a 25/800 ranking riddled with well-below average students and a 25/40 ranking with a very competitive private school!
